I have to confess to a roving eye in the other direction. There is something really seductive about the white furnishings which we are now adding to our white collection. The glamorous glossy stuff, such as our Hollywood Regency leather armoire, or our lovely little Hollywood Regency curved sofa, are especially covetable and I can see the more traditional French/Gustavian pieces such as the Issy dining table or the Givry cabinet, integrating beautifully into a graceful room. Add a touch of silver here and there and some restrained restrained crystal lighting. … oh, and a vase of pure white tulips and you’ve a magical result.

‘I really did love being in Paris last week, seeing the city in all its burnished autumnal beauty. The atmosphere was dreamy, especially in the quarter where I was staying, in a real gem of a hotel, a stone’s throw from Notre Dame. One of the best things about Paris as a city break is the atmosphere. which is free. I spent many a happy hour, wandering around, gazing at wonderful sights such as traditional shop windows filled with ribbons and bows, vintage jewellery, or scrumptious displays of pastries and cakes. All the Parisian’s were back from their holidays, of course, looking tanned and effortlessly sophisticated as only French women seem to manage in noticeable numbers. They have an enviable knack for elegant simplicity….like a lot of the French furnishings I saw.

While I’m in Paris, I will be wandering around a lot, soaking up the atmosphere, enjoying the food and the wine - a favourite pastime. I can’t wait to get there. but I will be eager to get back to showcase all the goodies.

Whether you are furnishing a new home in Monaco, or you are simply interested in a more engaging look for a place that you have owned for some time, you’ll find that Juliette’s Interiors is the ideal choice for not only our stylish furniture collections, but also for our experience of service and delivery to the Monaco area. Choosing the right furniture for you home is a key aspect to really revealing its personality and to bringing guests into it, and with a little bit of work and through spending some time absorbing the décor that is so popular in Monaco, you’ll find that there are plenty of choices that are available to you.

Furniture for your Monaco home

Choosing the right furniture for your Monaco home has a great deal to do with textures. There is a curiously heavy effect that works well with homes in this region, something that is a gorgeous cross between the Spanish styles and furnishings that come from the Hollywood Regency styles. You will find that ornate furnishings that are not shy about including a truly impressive amount of detailing are the rule of the day and that rich woods, whether they are pale or dark, accent these home beautifully. Consider what kind of effect you want in each room and how much detailing it will bear; it is important to move forward with the right plan in mind!

When you are thinking about buying furniture for your home in Monaco, remember that you should also consider the classic French influence. When you think of classic French furniture, you may wonder what it has to do with the rich style described above. The truth is that not all French furniture is spindly and fragile. Instead consider the ornate lines and rich upholstery of some French pieces. There is nothing shy or demure about black and gold drawer sets or lovingly embellished mirrors. In fact, the gold that is so very much a part of this furniture style will complement the dark colors mentioned above quite well. You will find that rather than clashing, you will have a rich and highly striking look to your home.

Another aspect of choosing furniture for your home in Monaco is what sort of textures you are interested in. There is a lot to be said for the cool and breezy styles that are so very much a part of the Monte Carlo environment. Remember that you should always choose textures that you love to touch, whether you have an appreciation for fine, sleek lines or wonderfully soft fabrics.

If you are trying to furnish your Monaco home, it is easy to see that only the best will do. While you could spend your time running from pillar to post and searching in the local stores, why not consider taking your search online? Not only will you have access to an immense variety of styles and upholstery when it comes to your furnishings, you will also have them delivered straight to your door as a matter of course. Remember that when you are looking around for the perfect furniture for your home that online stores can be searched quickly and easily for the ideal look. Here at Juliette’s Interiors we specialise in Monaco furniture delivery so please peruse our website and order online today.

The following article was published online at: http://ideamarketers.com/library/article.cfm?articleid=457710

The much admired style of furniture known as Rococo is a variant of art and interior decoration which developed in the 18th century in France. A not very well known is that Rococo rooms were built up as art salons and had a tasteful compilation of splendid pieces of furniture, sculptures, looking-glasses, wall hangings, and house paintings. This art form displays the definitive influence of Neoclassicism.

The name, Rococo comes from a combination of the French word rocaille, which signifies shells or in Italian barocco or Baroque style. The former refers to the absorption with ornamental conceptions and arches in Rococo expressive style. Critics initially used the term as a disparaging comment against what they determined as the frippery of the Rococo pattern of art. But when the term was taken in into the English linguistic process, it upheld the connotations of classicism both in vogue and traditional. Art historians have varied opinions about the meaning of the trend in the development of art but it has now been acknowledged as an influential feature of the span of European art.

This Rococo fashion which originated in France was to begin with related to articles of furniture and then bit by bit spread to the design of buildings and other art forms throughout the varied regions of Europe. In 18th century England the name Rococo was used as an description for French appreciation and modes . Eventually when Thomas Chippendale strated to make furniture, he finished and refined the mode to metamorphose the fundamentals of English furniture making. Some also yoke this process to the growing interest in Gothic art and architecture.

In the period of time this development occurred was in the late Victorian Period, which is the late nineteenth century and is also classed to as the neo-Rococo movement or the Rococo resurgence. The trend became immensely common in the furniture industry and was one of the longest lasting movements in the Victorian era. After the 1840’s each furniture manufacturer in Victorian England was using or receiving inspiration from Rococo style.

Rococo furniture is inherently very comfy being both cozy and attractive by sight. The designs which include a great deal of wooden sculpted forms and demarcations are not too intense or over done. Singular characteristics are twisted wooden legs, large-scale supports with built-in carvings from nature, like foliage, grapes, birds etc. The basis for the designs is a sense of social class and nobility. But ease and adaptability were strategic considerations too. The furniture was built to be movable and was often employed even in open-air gatherings. Many particular articles of furniture include the fauteuil chair and the voyeuse chair.

Features like detachable chair arms and removable upholstery cushions were used which had never been encountered earlier. Also, from the beginning, the furniture was not connected to the walls and this granted a variety of buoyant fresh sense to the interior of a living-room. By and large, solid mahogany wood was employed as a visible building material largely because of its strength and long-term nature. Another key feature that became a part of the interior decor for the time was a mirror above the chimneypiece. This also offered an magical illusion of size and made the living rooms seem grander and airier.

In conclusion, if you want furniture which fuses all the qualities of classical design with well-being then choose Rococo.

Juliettes Interiors are one of the top rococo furniture and french furniture supplier based in the UK.

‘…Just back from a trip to America, and I am now in no doubt that the backlash against minimalism is well and truly underway. What people crave in these uncertain times is warmth and comfort amid their cool interiors. Across the Atlantic, there’s a lot of interest in what the Americans call ‘Hollywood Regency’ …or you could call it ‘modern glamour.’ Hollywood Regency style harks back to the glitzy era of the 1930s, when it was popularised by interior designers such as Dorothy Draper ( 1889-1969), and much loved by film stars living and working on the west coast. Joan Crawford was a fan. Think of luxurious silks and velvets…beautifully designed, low, buttoned chairs, thick, sculpted carpets, criss-cross, chrome -legged coffee tables, sparkling chandeliers, and lots of lacquered furniture, and you’ve got the idea. This black velvet and crystal headboard says it all priced at £399 ! Juliette.
