This is really one of the most solid well made pieces of furniture we have come across for a long time. A family heirloom. Bed frame with hand crafted carvings made from solid mahogany and then painted in white. Height of headboard 142 cm. Height of footboard 87 cm. Louis XV beds are very popular with collectors of antique beds. The simplicity of their design makes them attractive as well as functional. During the 10 years of the French revolution (1789 - 99) many of Louis XV beds were sold off. A great number ended up as part of collections in English country houses. This is a replica of such a bed. There is also a complete range of bedroom furniture to match this beautiful bed including armories, bedside tables, dressing table, washstands etc.
