The term “dresser” can be misleading, as these items of furniture are actually used for display purposes for ornaments, crock ware and other decorative objects, as opposed to being items that help the user to get dressed. The term “dresser” actually originates from more practical purposes; originally placed in kitchens, the top of the units were used in the preparation and “dressing” of meats, hence the name.
