Maharajas’ Express, the latest addition to the fleet of Indian luxury trains, started in March 2010 has now become the winner of the World’s Leading Luxury Train Award at the popularWorld Travel Awards 2012. The ceremony took place yesterday on December 12th, 2012 at The Oberoi, Gurgaon.
Since the time of starting its journey, this luxury train has won accolades for its services. In the past also, Maharajas’ Express has won quite a few esteemed awards such as the ‘Best Luxury Train’ by CNBC Travel in the year 2012 and the 1st Runner Up in the Reader’s Choice Award for Conde Nast Traveler in the year 2011.
Maharajas’ Express, a pan-India luxury train offers 5 different journeys across some of the most sought-after destinations of the country such as Delhi, Lucknow, Khajuraho, Jaipur, Varanasi, Jodhpur, Mumbai, Ranthambore and so on. This luxury train is managed by the Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
The train consisting of a total of 14 cabins that has a total passenger capacity of 88 guests, is no less than a 5-star category hotel as far as its services and facilities are concerned along with royal décor. The guests can avail world-class amenities such as central air conditioned cabins, LCD television, channel music, multi-cuisine restaurants, spa, lounge, electronic safety deposit lockers, and so on.
