Something’s Gotta Give - The Villa Collection
I have a confession to make. Even though I love French-inspired furniture - a bit of Louis here and there - I’ve always had a sneaking fondness for New England-style interiors - the sort of by-the-ocean- look which embraces white-washed furniture, comfy sofas, striped cottons, logs piled high in a fireplace, bleached baskets. It’s a whole industry in itself, spurred on, of course, by the film comedy, Something’s Gotta Give, which featured a beach-front house in The Hamptons, home of Diane Keaton’s character. American interiors specialists believe that Something’s Gotta Give is turning out to be one of the most influential style movies of all time. The appeal endures. So when we at JI were offered an exclusive opportunity to bring clients a gorgeous new range of New England furnishings, we jumped at the chance, especially as we have lots of existing pieces of furniture, and accessories, which harmonise so well with this look - a few Gustavian pieces, such as the Moro clocks, for instance, and the ever popular large white ginger jars.
