A Chaise Longue Luxury Lunch

What better way to enjoy a luxury lunch with friends than from the stylish comfort of a glamorous, luxury chaise longue? We recently asked a few of our favourite foodie bloggers what they would serve as a luxury lunch – and which of our fabulous chaises longues they would choose to serve it from. The results are utterly mouth-watering. We can’t wait to dive in.

Our foodies have really surpassed themselves this time with a superb selection of finger foods and simple menus for an informal but luxury lunch. Bear in mind that you and your guests will be perched daintily on a lovely chaise longue, so cracking open a lobster is not an option! Instead, we have exquisite cocktails, quirky amuse-bouches, tantalisingly tasty mains, delicious desserts and even a Scottish take on petits fours. So sit back, make yourself comfortable (on your favourite chaise longue, of course) and prepare yourself for a gastronomic treat.

This is a wonderfully informal menu, packed with delicious treats. We are welcomed with a sparkling, spring-like Strawberry and Lime Bellini, which leads us on to a delightfully quirky plateful of Unicorn Devilled Eggs. These dainty, pastel-coloured mouthfuls are perfect for a spring weekend. Inspired by Easter, don’t let this limit you, as these little amuse-bouches deserve more than a once-a-year outing. On to a hearty but hand-held dish of Slow-Cooked Spiced Lamb and all its various accompaniments. You may need a napkin for this one but it’s definitely worth it. Dessert is so simple but so delicious; hot cross buns, ice cream, chocolate sauce. Keep the napkin to hand in case of any drips (you wouldn’t want to be ruining your lovely chaise longue now, would you?) and tuck in. And if you still have the minutest space left after all this fabulous food, why not try a tiny square of Scottish Creme Egg Tablet with your coffee. One of the sweetest – and most tempting – creations on this earth. Click here for the full post and all the recipes.

A choice of a Raspberry Mojito or a Fruity Lime & Ginger Beer Mocktail as an aperitif leads us into an explosion of crunchy spring vegetables with a Green Goddess Avocado Dip; Orange, Pistachio & Pomegranate Couscous Salad, and Pizza on a Spoon – and that’s just for starters. Bintu follows these colourful creations with a gloriously simple dish of Gnocchi with Sage & Brown Butter Sauce and Herbs – easy to eat with a fork and perfect for a chaise longue lunch. Dessert teams tangy lemon with perfumed cardamom in these lightly spiced and fluffy scones. Delicious topped with cream and jam but equally tasty just on their own. The Little Sunny Kitchen menu is easy to prepare, easy to eat (even on a chaise longue) and packed with fantastic flavours, colours and textures. All the best lunches start with a glass of fizz and Diana’s is no different. Her light and sparkling Prosecco is followed by a starter of crisp, crunchy bruschetta topped with juicy tomatoes and fragrant basil. Her main course combines a flavoursome but delicate wild garlic pesto with plump prawns and a generous portion of pasta. We’re a bit wary of grappling with linguine on our chaise longue here at Juliettes – not sure our cutlery skills are quite up to it – but it looks so delicious, we’d have to give it a go. With a few melt-in-the-mouth coconut macaroons to finish, this is a menu to be savoured. Click here for the full post and all the recipes.

Bumpkin Betty

Bumpkin Betty, aka Jaclyn Craig, treats her guests to a whole host of exquisitely tasty morsels and a lovely, light main course. There is nothing bumpkin about this fabulous menu, starting as it does with a delightful and delicate way to serve halloumi, the natural sharpness of the cheese offset by sweet honey and sesame seeds. On to a scrumptious selection of bits and bobs for you to build your own bespoke bruschetta. Try saying that after a couple of cocktails! Your main feature is then a luscious grilled miso salmon. Again, we we’re talking battling with noodles on a chaise longue, but the Italian members of the Juliettes team don’t know what we’re worrying about (how come they always manage everything with such panache?). We digress. Back to a divine and dainty dessert of chocolate raspberry truffles, all rounded off with a pink gin cocktail. A perfect menu for a perfect spring day – if we ever have one. Jaclyn has also chosen our gorgeous turquoise chaise longue as her favourite, unsurprising as this is certainly one of our most popular chaises, always guaranteed to attract attention.
